Taylor Swift to Perform at Academy Museum Gala

Published 8 October 2026

Taylor Swift is scheduled to perform and close the Academy Museum Gala on October 17, the museum’s president and director, Amy Homma, said. The annual Los Angeles event raises money for the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures and honors three figures in film: Charlize Theron, Colman Domingo and John Carpenter. Homma said the museum was pleased to welcome Swift and looked forward to her closing performance. The gala will recognize Theron with the Icon Award, Domingo with the Vantage Award and Carpenter with the Luminary Award, according to the museum’s announcement. Organizers have not announced which songs Swift will perform. One of her tracks for the upcoming animated film Toy Story 5, titled “I Knew It, I Knew You” in the supplied reports, has been discussed as a possible contender for the Academy Award for Best Original Song. That possibility has prompted speculation about Swift’s Oscar prospects, but no nomination is established in the reports, and there is no confirmation that she will perform the song at the gala. The event’s proceeds support the museum’s work, including exhibitions, educational programming, public screenings and the preservation of cinema history.
