Spotify Renews Multiyear Licensing Deal With Joe Rogan
Spotify has renewed its multiyear licensing agreement with Joe Rogan for The Joe Rogan Experience, extending a partnership that began in 2020. The company said new episodes will continue to be released weekly on Spotify and other platforms. Spotify did not disclose the financial terms or the agreement’s exact duration. The Wall Street Journal reported that the renewal is worth about $250 million, citing people familiar with the matter. The figure is an estimate, not a value confirmed by Spotify. Rogan said he was happy and excited to continue working with Spotify for years to come. Jordan Newman, Spotify’s head of content partnerships, said the show had built a large audience and remained distinctive. Spotify will continue to handle licensing and advertising sales for the podcast, according to reporting on the agreement. The renewal keeps Spotify involved with one of the most widely followed podcasts while allowing the show to remain available beyond its own service. The deal follows a shift in distribution: The podcast was exclusive to Spotify from 2020 until a 2024 renewal made it available on other platforms as well, including YouTube, Apple and Amazon.
