Soneium and DayOneDream Plan Tokenized K-pop Assets
Soneium and South Korean entertainment company DayOneDream have announced a partnership to develop tokenized K-pop intellectual property and related revenue products on Soneium, using DayOneDream’s WAVIST platform. The companies say future offerings could connect users to income generated by entertainment assets, while giving rights holders another financing route. They have not named a first offering, disclosed its size or set a launch date. The partnership was announced during Korea Blockchain Week in Seoul. According to the companies, WAVIST will work with Soneium to bring K-content assets and associated revenue streams onto the blockchain. Access to any future products will depend on regulatory requirements and user eligibility; the announcement does not establish that fans generally will be able to invest. DayOneDream manages businesses connected to artists including BTOB, LEE CHAE YEON, MEMI and 2F, and works across areas such as concerts and intellectual property. The partners have not said which artist, catalog or revenue stream might underpin an initial Soneium product, or what rights a token would confer.
