Seaver Asks Judge to End Restraining Order

Published 14 October 2026

Bryan Seaver, Dolly Parton’s nephew and former head of security, has asked a judge to dissolve a temporary restraining order, denying that messages cited by Parton’s estate threatened physical harm. The allegations remain disputed, and the court has not yet ruled on his request. In an affidavit filed Tuesday, Oct. 13, Seaver described the messages as profane exchanges about business matters and said he did not intend them as threats. He said some communications cited in the complaint were private conversations with Danny Nozell, Parton’s longtime manager, whom Seaver described as a close friend and colleague. Shes Alive, LLC, the company managing Parton’s posthumous business affairs, accused Seaver in a court complaint of making threats and seeking money from the estate. The complaint characterized his messages as part of an escalating effort to pressure business partners. Seaver disputes that account, saying his language was crude but referred to business disagreements, not violence. The affidavit addresses messages in which Seaver used phrases including “I’m a killer” and described himself as an international arms dealer and mercenary.
