Roku Greenlights Lucy Hale Series Scarlett Holmes for 2027

Published 6 October 2026

Roku has greenlit Scarlett Holmes, a limited series starring and executive produced by Lucy Hale, for exclusive release on The Roku Channel in 2027. The project recasts the Sherlock Holmes legacy as a romantic comedy about a modern descendant of the famed detective who uses observation to untangle clients’ dating and relationship problems rather than solve crimes. Hale will play Scarlett Holmes, who has inherited her ancestor’s powers of observation. Each episode’s storyline is inspired by a romantic comedy, according to the project description. Scarlett works with Jane Watson, a character modeled on Sherlock Holmes’ friend Dr. John Watson, as they help clients navigate mixed signals, secret crushes and other romantic dilemmas. Scarlett’s own love life becomes a central complication when she falls for Ollie Moriarity, a podcast producer who is secretly planning an exposé on her methods. The roles of Jane and Ollie have not been cast, according to the available project details. The series is written by Paris HerbertTaylor and Katie Wilbert and produced by Jaggi Entertainment. Sophie Tilson and Steve Jaggi are executive producers for the production company, alongside Hale.
