Peacock Greenlights Fast & Furious Live Action Series

Published 2 October 2026

Peacock has greenlit a live-action television series based on the Fast & Furious franchise, with the show currently set to premiere in 2028. Mike Daniels and Wolfe Coleman will write and serve as co-showrunners, while Vin Diesel is among the executive producers, according to reports describing the project. The series is being made by Universal Television and will also have Sam Vincent, Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Jeff Kirschenbaum and Chris Morgan as executive producers. The greenlight advances one of several Fast & Furious television projects discussed at NBCUniversal’s Upfront event in May. Diesel said there that fans had wanted more stories about the franchise’s legacy characters and that he had come to support expanding the property into television. The series’ premise, cast and connection to the films have not been disclosed. It is described as the franchise’s first live-action television series. Netflix previously released the animated Fast & Furious: Spy Racers, which ran for six seasons and concluded in 2021. The announcement follows earlier discussion of as many as four television projects set in the franchise’s universe.
