Lionsgate Greenlights Portrait of God With Chase Infiniti

Published 1 October 2026

Lionsgate has acquired the rights to Portrait of God and greenlit the horror feature for production, with Chase Infiniti set to star and Dylan Clark directing, according to the studio’s announcement. Sam Raimi and Jordan Peele will produce the film, whose plot has not been disclosed. Clark cowrote the screenplay with Joe Russo. Raimi and Rob Tapert will produce through Ghost House, while Peele and Win Rosenfeld will produce through Monkeypaw Productions. Russo is also a producer. Lionsgate’s announcement described the project as a continuation of the studio’s creative partnership with Clark. The feature is based on Clark’s short film of the same name, released online in 2022. The short follows a religious young woman preparing a presentation about a painting called Portrait of God. She describes how some viewers see a black canvas while others report seeing a figure in the darkness. Reports say the feature’s story is being kept under wraps, so it is not clear how closely it will follow the short.
