Rob Reiner wins posthumous Emmy for The Bear

Rob Reiner has received a posthumous Emmy Award for his guest performance in the FX series "The Bear." The Television Academy announced the win for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series on Sunday during the Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremonies. Reiner, who died in December 2025, was honored for his role as Albert Schnurr, a business consultant who advised line cook Ebraheim Edwin Lee Gibson on his sandwich operation. The award marks Reiner's second Emmy win, his first in nearly 50 years. His previous Emmy was for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his role as Michael Stivic in "All in the Family," a win he achieved twice in the 1970s. This latest recognition for his work on "The Bear" sets a record for the longest span between acting Emmy wins, with 48 years separating his latest award from his last. Presenter Wendi McLendon-Covey accepted the Emmy on Reiner's behalf, to a standing ovation from the audience. Reiner's appearance in "The Bear" was one of his final screen performances.
