Sabrina Carpenter Wins First Emmy Award

Sabrina Carpenter has earned her first Emmy Award, securing a win for Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded) for her work as an executive producer and performer on The Muppet Show. The award was presented Saturday night at the 2026 Creative Arts Emmy Awards. This milestone places the pop star halfway toward achieving the coveted EGOT status, an acronym representing the four major American entertainment awards: Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony. Carpenter already holds two Grammy Awards, which she received in 2025 for Best Pop Solo Performance for her song "Espresso" and Best Pop Vocal Album for "Short n Sweet." She now needs to win an Oscar and a Tony to complete the set. Carpenter, who did not attend the ceremony to accept her award, shared her pride on social media. "So incredibly proud of the whole Muppets crew on our Emmy wins," she wrote on her Instagram Story. "A lot of love and happiness and hard work and diva fights went into making this special." The Muppet Show special, a revival of Jim Henson's beloved variety program, garnered significant recognition at the Creative Arts Emmys, winning four of the six awards for which it was nominated.
