Kojima Productions Announces Death Stranding Anime for 2027

Published 30 October 2026

Kojima Productions has announced Death Stranding Isolations, an animated series set in the Death Stranding universe and scheduled to stream on Disney services in 2027. The studio unveiled the project during its 10th anniversary event in Tokyo in October 2026, alongside a teaser and story details. The series centers on a young girl who has lived in isolation since the Death Stranding, the catastrophic event that reshaped the world. According to the studio’s description, she gradually comes to prefer solitude and distances herself from human relationships. The story is set shortly after Sam Porter Bridges reconnects North America through the Chiral Network, and follows a new cast rather than the games’ principal characters. The studio describes the series as an original story that explores the effects of a newly connected society as people begin rebuilding. Other characters include an elder who forms connections in unconventional ways, a soldier caught in recurring conflict and a boy struggling with harsh conditions. The project retains themes associated with the franchise, including connection, isolation and humanity’s effort to rebuild a fractured world. Death Stranding...
