Paramount Renews Seven Havens and Orders Kuruk Prequel

Paramount renewed Avatar: Seven Havens for Books 3 and 4 and ordered a new animated prequel about Avatar Kuruk, announcements made during a New York Comic Con panel on October 9, the day the sequel series premiered. The release dates for the additional Seven Havens seasons and the prequel have not been announced. Creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko announced the renewal at the panel, according to reports of the event. The two additional Books extend a series that follows Pavi and her twin sister, Nisha, in a world changed by a catastrophe. The show uses “Books” for its seasons, as did earlier Avatar animated series. Paramount also ordered Avatar Kuruk: Wave of Chaos, an animated prequel centered on the young Water Tribe Avatar Kuruk, who lived generations before Aang. The project’s release timing was not provided. Details released about its premise describe Kuruk embarking on adventures to learn the four elements while facing challenges from a teacher, pirates and spirits. The announcements coincided with the premiere of Avatar: Seven Havens. Its first three episodes became available on Paramount on October 9.
