Scott Bakula to Star in CBS Detective Drama in Development

Scott Bakula is attached to star in and executive produce an untitled detective procedural in early development at CBS, a project set in Los Angeles and being developed with Dean Devlin’s Electric Entertainment and writer-producer Michael Sussman. The reports describe the series as a high-concept detective drama, but offer no title, plot details or confirmation that CBS has ordered it to production. Its current status is early development, not a series commitment. Sussman is attached to write and executive produce the project. Bakula and Sussman previously worked together on Star Trek: Enterprise, where Bakula played Captain Jonathan Archer. Devlin’s Electric Entertainment is also involved, though the reports do not specify the company’s precise production responsibilities. The project would mark Electric Entertainment’s first broadcast show, according to the reporting. The company has produced scripted television, including The Librarians and Leverage. The new project would bring it into development on a CBS procedural, but further details about how it would be made or distributed have not been reported.
