Dakota Johnson Questions if Knicks Star OG Anunoby Is Real

Published 9 October 2026

Dakota Johnson questioned whether New York Knicks forward OG Anunoby was a real person during a promotional game with Anne Hathaway and Josh Hartnett, prompting Hathaway to explain why the player was familiar to her. The exchange took place in a Hot Ones Versus episode promoting the actors’ film, Verity. In the game, Hathaway had to identify names on cards held against her head while her costars offered clues. When Hartnett suggested that the name evoked something “original gangster,” Hathaway guessed Anunoby. Johnson said she did not think the name was real and suggested the card had been planted deliberately. Hathaway then pointed to Anunoby’s performance in Game 4 of the 2026 NBA Finals, describing his late putback as “poetry in motion.” The basket was the defining moment in a game New York won, according to the episode’s account. Anunoby tipped in a missed shot with 1.2 seconds remaining, giving the Knicks a 107-106 victory over the San Antonio Spurs. Hathaway called the play one of the greatest baskets scored by a player and said it was “divine.” Hathaway’s enthusiasm reflected her longstanding support for the Knicks.
