Netanyahu Calls for Probe Into Gaza Documentary NAZA
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called for an investigation into people involved in NAZA, a documentary featuring anonymous testimony about Israeli military operations in Gaza. He has described the film as false and damaging to Israel, while the allegations presented by its interviewees remain disputed. In a letter dated October 11, Netanyahu urged the Israel Defense Forces chief of staff, Shin Bet director and attorney general to investigate the film’s participants and pursue prosecution. He cited alleged information-security violations, criminal defamation and harm to Israel’s diplomatic and security interests. He also repeated his demand in a post on X. NAZA, directed by Israeli filmmakers Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, presents testimony from 24 people described as Israeli military personnel and intelligence officers. Their identities are concealed. The interviewees allege that the military used artificial intelligence-assisted systems in targeting decisions and anticipated civilian casualties in some operations. The Israel Defense Forces has rejected the film’s allegations and questioned the anonymous sources’ credibility.
