NDC Denies Dickson Is Working With APC Against Its Ticket

Published 6 October 2026

The Nigeria Democratic Congress has denied allegations that its national leader, Seriake Dickson, is working with the governing All Progressives Congress to undermine the party’s presidential ticket for the 2027 election, saying he has no agreement with the APC and no plan to sabotage its candidates, Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso. NDC national spokesperson Osa Director made the denial in a statement issued Monday. He described the allegations as false and malicious and said Dickson was not acting on behalf of the APC. Director said the party responded to circulating claims to prevent them from being accepted as true. The reports reviewed do not identify who made the allegations or provide evidence supporting them. The NDC’s denial reflects the party’s account; the available information does not independently establish whether any arrangement exists or substantiate the alleged plan. Director argued that Dickson’s political record was inconsistent with the accusation. He said the senator could have joined the APC but instead chose to help build the NDC.
