Michael Brennan wins Baycurrent Classic for third PGA Tour title
Michael Brennan won the Baycurrent Classic on Sunday at Yokohama Country Club, earning his second PGA Tour victory of the season and third of his career with a one-stroke victory over Jacob Bridgeman and Keith Mitchell. Brennan closed with a three-under-par 68 to finish at 16 under. He began the final round tied for the lead, then recovered from a bogey on the 10th with birdies on the next two holes before parring the final six. The tournament was played in Japan as part of the FedEx Cup Fall. The 24-year-old said he felt nervous during the closing stretch but drew on experience from previous wins and missed chances in contention. He had won the Wyndham Championship in August after claiming the Bank of Utah Championship last year. The Baycurrent title was his third PGA Tour win in 33 starts, according to the tournament coverage. Bridgeman finished alongside Mitchell at 15 under. Bridgeman had a chance to draw level with a birdie putt on the 17th, but the five-foot attempt missed. He then made par on the last. Mitchell had moved ahead during the round after a stretch featuring three birdies and an eagle, but played the final 10 holes two over par and finished with a 68.
