Logitech Announces Four Upgraded Pro Gaming Peripherals

Logitech has announced four upgraded Pro-series gaming peripherals: the Pro X3 Superstrike mouse, Pro X2 Rapid keyboard, Pro X3 Lightspeed headset and Pro X Control mousepad. The products have staggered release dates, with the keyboard listed as available September 23, the mouse scheduled for October 6 and the headset and mousepad for October 8. The X3 Superstrike is an update to Logitech’s haptic-click gaming mouse. The company says it offers up to 135 hours of battery life, 50% more than the 90 hours claimed for the X2. Reported changes also include improved weight distribution and an updated sensor. Logitech’s figures put the sensor’s maximum resolution at 48,000 DPI, acceleration at 90G and tracking speed at 930 inches per second. The mouse retains Haptic Inductive Trigger System technology, which replaces conventional mechanical switches with configurable haptic feedback. Logitech says the X3 supports an 8,000Hz wireless polling rate. It is listed at about $200, though reported prices vary by region and some accounts put it at $179.99. The X2 will remain available. Early assessments of the mouse differ on the practical value of the changes.
