Kwara Police Arrest Four in Two Human Parts Cases
Kwara police say they arrested four men in two investigations involving disturbed graves and suspected human hands, while allegations about the cases remain contested and under investigation. Police Commissioner Ojo Adekimi said Abu Jimoh and Ayo Jimoh were arrested around 5 a.m. on October 8 while allegedly digging at a cemetery in Omupo, in Ifelodun Local Government Area. The investigation began after residents discovered in May 2026 that graves had been disturbed and the heads of buried bodies were missing. Adekimi said about nine graves had been exhumed. Police said the brothers confessed during questioning and named Mukaila Bello as the alleged buyer of the removed body parts. Bello denied buying human parts, saying his dealings with the brothers involved wood. Adekimi said the alleged parts from the cemetery had not been recovered. The brothers also denied involvement. Ayo and Abu said they were chasing a rat that had entered the cemetery, and that they were arrested after going there. The police account and the suspects’ explanations have not been resolved in the information made public.
