India elect to bat in third T20I after sealing series

Published 20 October 2026

India won the toss and elected to bat in the third T20I against Zimbabwe in Raipur on October 20, with the three-match series already secured. The toss and team selections were confirmed, but the available information does not establish the final match result. Captain Smriti Mandhana said India chose to bat to give the middle order more time at the crease. She said the team was looking toward a total above 180 but had not set a fixed target, adding that the focus was on playing positively and executing the basics. India made one change to the XI that had played the earlier matches: Prema Rawat came in for Sree Charani, who was rested. The selected side also included Shafali Verma, Mandhana, Anushka Sharma, Harmanpreet Kaur, Niki Prasad, Richa Ghosh, Deepti Sharma, Arundhati Reddy, Nandani Sharma and Kranti Gaud. India entered the finale after winning the first two matches and taking an unassailable lead. The second victory, on October 18, was by nine wickets. India had won the opening match by four wickets, according to match reports. With the series outcome decided, India had the opportunity to complete a clean sweep, while Zimbabwe could seek a win in the final T20I....
