Hoskinson says Midnight could eventually surpass Zcash
Charles Hoskinson said on September 28 that Midnight, a privacy-focused blockchain developed by Input Output, could eventually become bigger than Zcash, pointing to planned privacy and cross-chain features. The forecast is his assessment, not a confirmed outcome, and he did not define what “bigger” means. In a post responding to a bullish assessment of Midnight’s NIGHT token, Hoskinson cited selective disclosure, private agents and a decentralized finance kernel intended to work across major blockchains. He also referred to zero-knowledge proofs, trusted execution environments and multiparty computation, as well as Cardano’s network uptime and the planned Leios upgrade. The features and infrastructure he described are part of his case for Midnight’s potential; the reports do not establish that all are already available. The market-value gap remains substantial. A September 28 snapshot put Midnight near $443 million and Zcash near $26.2 billion, making Midnight roughly 59 times smaller by that measure. Those figures are time-sensitive and do not by themselves indicate whether either network will gain users or activity. One account also reported NIGHT trading near $0.
