Google Sets Fitbit Air India Launch for October 2

Google said Fitbit Air will go on sale in India on October 2 for Rs 13,999, bringing the company’s screenless fitness tracker to the market through the Google Store and retail partners. The announced price and launch date were included in Google’s product information; the reports do not establish whether sales have begun. The compact wearable is designed to track health and activity without an on-device screen. Google says it includes continuous heart-rate monitoring, sleep analysis, blood-oxygen tracking, automatic activity detection and notifications for irregular heart rhythms. The device sends health metrics to the Google Health app on a connected phone. Google is offering buyers a three-month trial of Google Health Premium with the tracker. The company says the service includes Google Health Coach, which provides personalized guidance based on user data. The tracker’s listed price is Rs 13,999, and it is due to be sold through the Google Store and retail partners including Flipkart, Croma, Reliance Digital and Vijay Sales.
