Girl Scouts debut allergy-friendly, dog cookies

Published 8 September 2026

Girl Scouts of the USA announced Tuesday the addition of two new cookie varieties to its 2027 lineup, including the organization's first allergy-friendly cookie and its first cookie specifically designed for dogs. The new offerings, named Girl Scout Sparkables and Patch Pals, are set to launch exclusively online for direct shipping on January 12, 2027, coinciding with the national opening of the 2027 Girl Scout Cookie Program season. Girl Scout Sparkables are described as crunchy oatmeal cookies featuring chocolate chips and colorful sprinkles. Developed in partnership with Partake, a company specializing in allergy-friendly baked goods, Sparkables are formulated to avoid the nine major food allergens: wheat, tree nuts, peanuts, milk, eggs, soy, fish, sesame, and shellfish. This initiative aims to increase inclusivity within the Girl Scout Cookie Program, allowing more families navigating common food allergies to participate. The second new addition, Patch Pals, marks the organization's debut into the pet treat market. These soft-baked, blueberry muffin-flavored cookies are intended for canine companions.
