Five charged in B.C. dealership extortion investigation
Five people have been arrested and charged in an investigation into alleged extortion demands against a British Columbia auto dealership and subsequent shootings and arson at locations in Langley and Surrey, the RCMP said. Four were arrested in Surrey and a fifth was arrested at Toronto Pearson International Airport after returning from India. The investigation began in June 2025, after the dealership’s co-owners reported receiving extortion demands, police said. The attacks followed at the business’s locations in Langley and Surrey. The RCMP has not established the accused’s guilt through a trial, and the allegations remain before the courts. Police said the British Columbia Prosecution Service approved charges on October 1. The accused face differing combinations of charges, including extortion, firearms offences and property damage involving fire or explosives. Some also face drug-related charges. The specific counts vary by accused. One man was arrested at Toronto Pearson after returning from India; the other four were arrested in Surrey.
