Filing shows FIFA World Cup company paid Infantino $1.76 million

Published 13 October 2026

US tax filings show that FWC2026 US Inc. paid FIFA president Gianni Infantino $1.76 million in 2024, in addition to compensation FIFA disclosed in its annual report, according to reporting based on the filings. FIFA did not publicly include the payment in its report for that year, raising questions about how the organization applies its rules on disclosure of individual compensation. The payment included Infantino’s base salary, bonus and other compensation. FIFA’s annual report listed his 2024 earnings at 3.88 million Swiss francs, reported as about $5.1 million. The company payment was separate from that amount, and US records reportedly identified $626,229 of it as other reportable compensation. FIFA statutes say individual compensation for the president, council members and secretary general shall be made public. Asked about the payment, FIFA said the president’s annual compensation and contractual benefits are decided by its compensation subcommittee. It said benefits including social charges and pension contributions are reported to US authorities in line with reporting requirements.
