Fender launches three John 5 signature Telecasters

Fender has introduced three John 5 signature Telecaster guitars, including two standard models and a Custom Shop version, with the collection reported available now. The lineup pairs the returning Ghost design with two Phantom models, extending the guitarist’s long-running association with the instrument. The standard Ghost and Phantom are described as Indonesian-made guitars fitted with DiMarzio D Activator humbuckers. The Ghost has an Arctic White finish with red accents, while the Phantom is black and equipped with a Floyd Rose tremolo. Fender’s announcement describes both models as having a simplified control layout with a single volume knob and a killswitch. Reports differ on some control details, so the precise configuration across all three models is not clear. The Custom Shop Phantom shares the black finish, humbuckers and Floyd Rose tremolo, with a two-piece select alder body, a maple neck and an ebony fingerboard. Fender describes the instrument as a Custom Shop build with additional appointments, including locking tuners and Luminlay side dots.
