Father Reveals Son Survived Days After Killings in First Interview

Patrick Clancy, the father of three children killed by his ex-wife, Lindsay Clancy, revealed in his first television interview since her murder trial ended in a mistrial that his youngest son survived for four days after the attack. The interview, which aired on Sunday, September 20, 2026, provided new personal details about the family tragedy and Clancy's path toward forgiveness. Clancy disclosed that his eight-month-old son, Callan, did not die on January 24, 2023, the day of the killings, but lived for several days at Boston Children's Hospital. "I got to hold him. I got to lay down next to him. And he died in my arms," Clancy said. He described holding his dying son while typing tributes to his other children, five-year-old Cora and two-year-old Dawson, with one other hand. It was during that moment, he said, that he forgave his ex-wife. "I believed that it was her mental illness that caused that," Clancy stated, attributing the killings to postpartum psychosis. He noted that Lindsay Clancy never asked for his forgiveness. "I think when it comes to forgiveness, I also felt that if I didn't get there, I would be eaten up inside forever," he explained.
