Fairshake backs 32 House candidates, leaves most spending unclear
Fairshake, a cryptocurrency-focused political action committee, announced support for 32 House candidates in the November midterm elections, backing 19 Republicans and 13 Democrats who supported legislation that the industry considers a priority. The group identified six candidates who would each receive $1 million in outside spending but did not disclose planned amounts for the other 26. The six named recipients are Democrats Janelle Bynum of Oregon, Steven Horsford of Nevada and Derek Tran of California, and Republicans French Hill of Arkansas, Bryan Steil of Wisconsin and Bill Huizenga of Michigan. Fairshake did not specify how the remaining support would be distributed, leaving the total planned spending on the House slate unclear. The announcement comes as the industry seeks lawmakers who may revive digital-asset legislation after the CLARITY Act stalled in the Senate. The bill would establish a federal regulatory framework for digital assets and divide oversight between federal regulators. A September Senate vote failed to advance it.
