Polymarket Tests V2 Ahead of Tentative November Transition
Polymarket has begun production testing of Protocol V2, a rebuild of the prediction-market platform’s core market infrastructure, with protocol head Rajath Alex saying the company is tentatively targeting November 2 for new markets to begin using it. The limited canary-market test is scheduled to run from October 5 through October 30. The planned transition has not yet occurred. The upgrade replaces the platform’s legacy Conditional Tokens Framework, which dates to 2019, with a unified system for managing market positions. Polymarket’s published documentation describes a single ERC1155 position system, pUSD as collateral for new V2 markets, and modular components for market operation and resolution. The design is intended to support several market formats through a shared architecture. A new OracleAggregator is designed to connect markets with different resolution sources, including UMA and Chainlink. The system allows resolution methods to be selected for individual markets. Polymarket’s documentation also describes a Router that directs transactions to the appropriate market components.
