Ethereum sentiment leads despite October ETF outflows

Published 15 October 2026

Ethereum drew the strongest positive social-media sentiment among the three major cryptocurrencies tracked by Santiment, even as its U.S. spot exchange-traded funds continued to show substantial October outflows. The contrast set Ethereum apart from Bitcoin and XRP, whose social-comment ratios were below parity, while offering a mixed picture of investor interest rather than a clear market direction. Santiment’s bullish-to-bearish comment ratio for Ethereum was 2.05 across X, Reddit and Telegram, indicating about two positive comments for each negative one. Bitcoin’s ratio was 0.82 and XRP’s was 0.92, meaning bearish comments outnumbered bullish ones for both assets. The figures measure the balance of online comments, not investment flows or prices. The sentiment data were reported as traders expressing optimism about Ethereum’s recovery above key support levels, staking demand and upcoming network improvements. Bitcoin’s weaker ratio was associated in reports with repeated difficulty breaking above $87,000 and a decline toward $81,000. XRP’s ratio followed a weekly decline of more than 9% and difficulty reclaiming $1.40.
