Eric Stonestreet to Return for Dexter: Resurrection Season 2
Eric Stonestreet will return as Al Walker, the serial killer known as Rapunzel, in the second season of Dexter: Resurrection, he announced at a New York Comic Con panel on October 8. The season is scheduled to premiere October 30 on Paramount. Stonestreet made a surprise appearance at the panel, which brought together cast members and the series’ creative team. The announcement confirms Al’s return but does not disclose what happens to him in the new season. Al appeared in the first season as one of the killers gathered by Leon Prater. Dexter Morgan, played by Michael C. Hall, infiltrated the group and intended to kill Al, but Al left New York before Dexter could reach him. One account of the storyline said Al returned to Wisconsin after declining Dexter’s invitation; Stonestreet has said he did not think the character recognized Dexter’s deception. Stonestreet described Al as a family man who appears to have the life others might envy, while also being a deeply bad person. He said that contrast was part of what made the role enjoyable to play. His comments did not reveal how Al’s story will develop in Season 2.
