Dolan Plans Blakeman Fundraiser Before Knicks Preseason Game

Published 13 October 2026

James Dolan is scheduled to host a fundraiser for New York Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Blakeman at Madison Square Garden before the Knicks play the Toronto Raptors in a preseason game on Thursday, October 15, according to an invitation described in reports. The event has been announced, but the available information does not establish that it has taken place. The invitation lists three contribution levels: $10,000 for admission, $25,000 for a “Friend” tier and $50,000 for a “Patriot” tier. The fundraiser is planned for the arena ahead of the game, which is part of the Knicks’ preseason schedule. Blakeman, the Nassau County executive, is challenging Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul in the November 3 election. In a statement reported alongside the invitation, Blakeman praised Dolan’s business record and said he was proud to have Dolan’s support and advice. Dolan is executive chairman of Madison Square Garden Entertainment and owns the Knicks. New York State campaign finance records show that Dolan and MSG-affiliated entities gave nearly $1.4 million in July to a super PAC supporting Blakeman, according to one report.
