Musk’s Reported Republican Giving Tops $276 Million
Elon Musk’s representatives reported that he directed more than $276 million to Republican political groups and his America PAC since July, making him the largest known individual donor in the 2026 midterm cycle. They put his total giving to federal committees during the cycle, which began January 1, 2025, at about $366 million. The figures were supplied by Musk’s representatives and confirmed by an America PAC spokesman. They are reported contribution totals, not the result of separate independent audits. The $276 million covers giving since July; the broader $366 million figure covers the election cycle beginning in January 2025. The largest reported recipient since July was the Senate Leadership Fund, which received $158 million to support Republican Senate candidates. America PAC, founded by Musk, received more than $76 million. The group’s reported operation is active in seven battleground states and nearly three dozen House races.
