Devgn says Hindi Drishyam 3 will conclude franchise

Published 1 October 2026

Ajay Devgn says the Hindi-language Drishyam 3: The Conclusion is intended to end the franchise and has a substantially new script, distinguishing it from the Malayalam series. Speaking at FICCI Frames in Mumbai, Devgn said he had asked Malayalam star Mohanlal to watch the completed film and hoped for his approval. The film is scheduled to open in theatres on October 2, 2026; its release and audience response have not yet been established. Devgn said he called Mohanlal because he wanted him to see the Hindi film. Mohanlal was on holiday at the time, Devgn said, and expected to watch it soon. No response from Mohanlal is reported. The actor said he and the filmmakers decided to conclude the Hindi story rather than continue with another installment. He described writing a Drishyam sequel as difficult because the plot must move forward from the previous film while retaining the series’ twists. According to Devgn, the third film’s script is completely new, and he believes the story has reached a point where another sequel is unnecessary. Devgn said he had watched the completed film shortly before speaking and personally felt it surpassed Drishyam 2.
