Delhi Police Register FIR on ACP Bhagat’s Complaint

Published 14 October 2026

Delhi Police registered a first information report on October 13 based on Assistant Commissioner of Police Vivek Bhagat’s complaint alleging caste-based remarks, intimidation and obstruction during a protest. The case names journalist Rosy, Gajendra Singh and an unidentified person, according to reports citing the FIR. The allegations have not been established by a court or police findings. The FIR was registered at Parliament Street police station under provisions of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Bhagat alleged that Rosy made derogatory remarks about his caste and questioned his appointment as an ACP while he was on duty near Buta Singh Roundabout on October 3. He said he and Constable Ravi Dahiya heard the remarks. Bhagat’s complaint further alleges that Rosy and associates confronted him later as he helped move a bus carrying detained protesters, obstructing his official work. It also claims that a protest outside the police station and subsequent social-media posts portrayed him as a sexual predator and harmed his reputation. These claims are allegations in the complaint, not findings.
