Published 14 October 2026

Punjab Police said it arrested Jobanpreet Singh in Mumbai on October 14 in connection with the October 3 killing of Punjabi influencer Mad Sandhu, recovering three pistols, five magazines and 11 cartridges. The operation involved the Punjab Police Counter Intelligence team in Jalandhar and the Mumbai Anti-Terrorism Squad, according to Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav. Police identified Singh as a key accused in the murder case. They said the weapons and ammunition were recovered from him during the arrest. One report identified the pistols as a 9mm Glock, a 9mm Beretta and a .30-bore PX5. Yadav said preliminary investigation indicated that Singh helped move weapons, finance the operation and provide logistical support to the shooters, allegedly at the direction of handlers based abroad. Those claims are police allegations and have not been established in court. Police also said Singh confessed to involvement in three firing incidents linked to extortion in Tarn Taran district. The alleged confession and his reported role in those incidents remain part of the investigation, rather than findings established by a court.
