Big Brother contestant Amber Siyavus dies at 46

Published 12 October 2026

Amber Siyavus, who competed on the eighth season of Big Brother, died at 46, with death records listing October 9, 2026, as the date. The Clark County medical examiner confirmed her death, and the cause and manner remain pending, according to the records and the agency’s confirmation reported on October 12. Siyavus appeared on the CBS reality competition in 2007 and finished seventh. She was evicted eighth from the season, which Dick Donato won. Her emotional moments in the house earned her the nickname Whamber, and she formed close friendships with fellow contestants Jameka Cameron and Dustin Erikstrup. Julie Chen Moonves, the show’s longtime host, posted a tribute on Instagram after Siyavus’ death. She remembered Siyavus for her heart and honesty and said she would be remembered with love. Donato also wrote about Siyavus in a post on X. He said he had contacted her on Facebook to offer encouragement about staying clean and had not spoken with her since shortly after the show. His statement does not establish the cause of her death, which remains pending.
