Bezzecchi takes Aragon GP pole with circuit record
Marco Bezzecchi secured pole position for the MotoGP Aragon Grand Prix on August 29, 2026, delivering a stunning performance while still recovering from injury. The factory Aprilia rider set a new circuit record of 1 minute 44.962 seconds at the MotorLand Aragon circuit, beating Ducati's Marc Marquez by 0.089 seconds. The result marks Bezzecchi's first pole since the Italian Grand Prix in May and continues his strong form since returning from a serious crash at the German Grand Prix in July. Qualifying was a tense battle between Bezzecchi and Marquez, a seven-time winner at the Spanish track. Marquez initially set a blistering pace, but Bezzecchi responded with two laps in the 1m44s range.
