Wike to coordinate Tinubu’s 2027 campaign in FCT, Rivers

Nyesom Wike said he would coordinate President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 reelection campaign in the Federal Capital Territory and Rivers State, as he brought together All Progressives Congress and Peoples Democratic Party stakeholders for a cross-party mobilisation effort in Abuja on Monday, October 12. At a Rainbow Coalition stakeholders meeting, Wike described himself as the FCT campaign’s field commander and said participants had agreed to support Tinubu for president. He urged APC and PDP members to work together on the presidential contest, while saying parties could decide their positions on other races. The meeting brought together party officials, candidates and political figures from the FCT’s six area councils, according to reports of the gathering. Wike said he was committed to Tinubu’s reelection because of development projects and institutional changes in the FCT. He cited road construction and rehabilitation, school renovations, police stations and the establishment of the FCT Civil Service Commission. He also pointed to the Women Affairs and Youth Development Secretariats as examples of initiatives under the administration.
