APC revises 2027 campaign council, names Wike and governors

Published 13 October 2026

Nigeria’s All Progressives Congress has revised its presidential campaign council for the 2027 election, assigning campaign coordinator roles to Nyesom Wike, Ademola Adeleke and Chukwuma Soludo, politicians affiliated with parties other than the APC. Under the announced arrangement, Wike, the Federal Capital Territory minister, will coordinate the campaign in Rivers State and the FCT. Adeleke, governor of Osun State, will oversee campaign activity there, while Soludo, governor of Anambra State, will coordinate in his state. The appointments put the three figures in the ruling party’s campaign structure despite their reported affiliations with the Peoples Democratic Party, Accord and the All Progressives Grand Alliance, respectively. President Bola Tinubu is named chairman of the council. Vice-President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda are listed as vice-chairmen, while Abdulaziz Yari is director-general. The revised structure also assigns Senate President Godswill Akpabio, House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq deputy vice-chair roles. Yobe State Governor Mai Buni is named a deputy director-general for the North.
