Wardogs Launches to Over 1 Million Sales and 340K Players
The new multiplayer shooter Wardogs has achieved a massive commercial and player-count success following its Early Access launch on September 10, 2026. Developer Bulkhead announced that the game sold over 1.25 million copies within its first day of availability. The launch also attracted a huge concurrent player base, with SteamDB statistics showing a peak of approximately 340,000 players on the platform shortly after release. Despite this strong start, the launch was marred by significant technical difficulties. The overwhelming player influx caused server instability, leading to long login queues and temporary outages. Bulkhead was forced to take the game offline briefly to restart systems and implement a queue to manage the load. The studio apologized for the disruptions via a social media post, stating that the issues were being addressed. Wardogs is a tactical first-person shooter designed for up to 100 players split into three teams, competing to control zones on destructible battlefields. The game is currently available on PC through Steam and is also accessible via NVIDIA's GeForce NOW cloud gaming service.
