Virender Sehwag Named New Host for Rise and Fall Season 2

Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag has been announced as the new host for the second season of the reality show 'Rise and Fall,' replacing Ashneer Grover. The announcement was made on September 11, 2026, with the release of a promotional video for the upcoming season. The show, produced by Banijay Asia for Amazon's Prime Video, features 15 celebrity contestants divided into two groups: the 'Rulers,' who live in a penthouse, and the 'Workers,' who reside in a basement. The format centers on shifting power dynamics, where contestants can move between the two groups based on strategy, alliances, and performance in challenges. Sehwag, who retired from international cricket in 2015, is making his streaming hosting debut with the series. In a statement, he compared the show's unpredictability to cricket. 'Cricket has taught me one thing: no match is won before the final ball, and Rise and Fall Season 2 takes that unpredictability to another level,' he said. 'As a host, what excites me about this game is that there are no easy wins and no fixed positions.' The first season of the show was won by television actor Arjun Bijlani, who received a prize of Rs 28.10 lakh.
