Trump says MAGA Inc. will fund future promotional ads

Published 6 October 2026

President Donald Trump said Monday that he would pay for future promotional television ads himself and with money raised for MAGA Inc., ending the use of taxpayer funds for the campaign-style spots going forward. The announcement followed criticism from lawmakers in both parties over ads that feature Trump and promote his administration. It does not clarify whether money already spent will be repaid. Trump announced the change in a post on Truth Social, saying he had decided to fund the ads with his own money and funds he raised for MAGA Inc., a super PAC. A White House official said MAGA Inc. would pay for the public service announcement ads going forward. The announcement describes a future funding arrangement; the supplied information does not confirm that private payments have begun. AdImpact, a political advertising tracker, estimated that at least $10 million in public funds had been spent on the ads. One report gave the estimate as $10.1 million as of Monday. The figures are estimates, not a final accounting. The ads included disclaimers stating they were paid for by the U.S. government, and some aired during football games and news programming.
