Jack Smith Attends Maryland Festival Wearing ‘No Kings’ Shirt
Former special counsel Jack Smith attended the Power to the People festival in Columbia, Maryland, on October 3 wearing a Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band tour shirt marked “No Kings.” Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl acknowledged Smith from the stage, dedicating “My Hero” to “my new friend Jack,” according to accounts of the performance. Photos and videos from the festival showed Smith in the crowd wearing the black shirt, which featured the tour name and the “No Kings” slogan. The festival was held at Merriweather Post Pavilion and included performances by Springsteen, the Foo Fighters and other musicians. It was organized by Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello. The appearance came six days after Smith testified at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on September 29 about his investigations of President Donald Trump. At that hearing, Smith said he had no partisan loyalty and would have brought the same charges against a Democrat if the facts were the same, according to an account of his remarks.
