Trump Plans Visit to Peterbilt Factory in Texas

President Donald Trump is expected to visit Peterbilt Motors’ factory in Denton, Texas, on Thursday, October 1, to promote his administration’s manufacturing and economic agenda. The planned appearance comes as the White House points to hiring at truckmaker Paccar as evidence that tariffs are supporting domestic production, while federal employment figures show manufacturing jobs have declined overall since January 2025. A White House official said Paccar added more than 1,000 jobs at its Denton operation and more than 2,000 across the United States after tariffs on medium- and heavy-duty trucks took effect on November 1, 2025. The official attributed the job additions to the tariffs.
