Tropical Storm Warning Issued for Texas and Louisiana Coast
Tropical Storm Warnings were issued Monday for the Gulf Coast from southeast Texas to southwest Louisiana as a developing weather system, designated Potential Tropical Cyclone Five, was forecast to strengthen and make landfall on Tuesday. The National Hurricane Center initiated advisories on the system Monday morning, placing the area from Port Bolivar, Texas, eastward to the Vermilion-Cameron Parish line in Louisiana under a warning. As of late Monday morning, the disturbance was centered about 120 miles south-southeast of Morgan City, Louisiana, with maximum sustained winds estimated at 35 mph.
