Travis Barker Says He Had Surgery for Nerve Numbness

Published 8 October 2026

Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker said he underwent cubital tunnel release surgery after numbness developed in his arm, hand and fingers following a show the previous month. In posts on Instagram, the 50-year-old said a nerve test led him to have the procedure and that he hoped to recover within a few weeks. Barker described the symptoms and surgery in an Instagram Story shared October 7. He said the numbness began after a performance the previous month, but did not identify which show. He also said he had a nerve test on Monday after a show and learned that he needed surgery to address a nerve problem. Barker said he wanted to treat the issue so he could continue playing drums over the long term. He expressed hope that he would be well in a few weeks. Those details, including the symptoms, procedure and expected recovery, came from Barker’s own social-media statements; no treating clinician’s account was provided. Cubital tunnel release is a procedure used to relieve pressure on the ulnar nerve near the elbow. Barker’s posts did not provide further medical details or specify when he would resume performing. The show associated with the onset of the numbness was also not named.
