Tinubu Departs Paris for Lagos After European Vacation

President Bola Tinubu has departed Paris for Nigeria after concluding his European working vacation, the Presidency said Tuesday, with his arrival in Lagos expected later on September 29. The announced return route and schedule place his first planned engagements in Lagos before a subsequent return to Abuja; the sources do not confirm that he had landed by the time of the announcement. Special Adviser on Information and Strategy Bayo Onanuga said Tinubu was expected to attend an October 1 premiere at the Wole Soyinka National Theatre in Lagos for a film honouring the late Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola. The event is planned as part of Nigeria’s Independence Day activities. The Presidency described Abiola as a figure in the country’s democratic history. The Presidency also said Tinubu would spend several days in Lagos meeting political leaders and associates ahead of the 2027 elections.
