DR Congo beat Zimbabwe as Tunisia draw with Botswana

The Democratic Republic of the Congo beat Zimbabwe 2-1 in Harare on Monday to remain top of Group E in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, while Tunisia were held to a 2-2 draw by Botswana in Rades. Yoane Wissa scored and assisted Samuel Moutoussamy’s goal as DR Congo claimed a second consecutive win. Wissa put the visitors ahead in the 30th minute, then set up Moutoussamy to score in first-half added time. Zimbabwe’s Marshall Munetsi scored in the 93rd minute, but DR Congo held on for the victory. The result left DR Congo with six points from two matches. Zimbabwe and Equatorial Guinea had three points each, while Sierra Leone had none after two rounds. The standings were interim, with the second round’s fixtures still to be completed across the qualifying groups. In Rades, Tunisia twice went ahead through Hazem Mastouri, who scored once before halftime and again after the break. Botswana had taken the lead through Thatayaone Kgamanyane, and Lebogang Ditsele equalised in the 60th minute to secure a point for the visitors. Tunisia and Botswana each had two points after two matches.
