The Grand Tour launches new era with new hosts

Published 5 September 2026

The motoring adventure show The Grand Tour has launched its new era with six new episodes, featuring incoming hosts Francis Bourgeois, James Engelsman, and Thomas Holland. The trio officially took the reins of the series on Friday, September 4, 2026, stepping into the roles previously held by Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond. The new presenters have received the blessing of the original hosts, who offered advice ahead of the relaunch. Thomas Holland described meeting Clarkson, May, and Hammond as a warm experience, with James May advising the newcomers to simply "do your thing" and not seek his guidance. "It was like Yoda," Holland said of May's simple, hands-off approach. Jeremy Clarkson reportedly offered more blunt advice, which was deemed not appropriate for broadcast. Bourgeois, known for his popular trainspotting videos and social media presence, joins Engelsman and Holland, creators of the motoring YouTube channel Throttle House. The new hosts acknowledged the significant responsibility of inheriting such an iconic show, with Engelsman stating, "This is ours to mess up, and hopefully we've done right by them.
