Dexter Resurrection Season 2 Brings Back Angel Batista

Published 5 September 2026

David Zayas will reprise his role as Angel Batista in the upcoming second season of "Dexter: Resurrection," despite the character's death in the first season. Zayas was recently seen filming a scene with series lead Michael C. Hall, who portrays Dexter Morgan, in New York City's Times Square earlier this week. Sources have confirmed that while Batista is dead, his return to the series will likely manifest as a vision or hallucination within Dexter's mind, a narrative device previously used for characters like Dexter's father, Harry Morgan. Michael C. Hall has suggested that Batista will continue to reside in Dexter's thoughts and heart, and that this aspect may be explored in the new season. The second season will also see Desmond Harrington promoted to series regular, reprising his role as Joey Quinn. Krysten Ritter is confirmed to return as Mia LaPierre, also known as Lady Vengeance, though the capacity of her appearance remains undisclosed. James Remar is set to return as Harry Morgan. New antagonists are also joining the series. Brian Cox will portray Don Framt, the serial killer known as The New York Ripper, who was referenced in Season 1.
